#ContemporyRomance: The Husband Test
by Patricia Gauthier
What if finding a husband was as easy as taking a simple ten question test? Sounds too good to be true, right? Yet that’s the claim of the abandoned pamphlet Callie O’Donnell finds in a nineteenth century antique dresser.
Callie, a firm believer in no sex before marriage, thinks she can use the pamphlet to find true love and still cling to her moral code. Encouraged, she starts a blog about dating called, Single Files.
Colt Harrigan’s no-strings-attached opinion about sexual relationships inspires him to create his own blog, M.A.R.E. (Men Against Romantic Entanglements). Without ever meeting face to face Colt and Callie duel each other through their blogs, butting heads almost daily.
When a dangerous psycho stalker threatens both their lives the FBI forces them to live together in protective custody. Suddenly living together at a ‘safe’ house isn’t as safe as they had anticipated. Their undeniably strong attraction to each other is an unforeseen complication they both must fight. Now the trick is to survive each other long enough for their stalker to be captured.
Patricia Gauthier was born in Detroit, Michigan as Patricia Bednarczyk. At age five her parents changed their last name to Richards by taking her father's middle name and adding an 's'. At age 29 she married her husband, the only son of six children. Talk about being destined for each other! As it happens, her father-in-law was also her godfather! Both set's of parents had been friends for many years and lived across the street from each other. She also has a sister-in-law named Patricia!
Now married for over 23 years Patricia and Paul have two son's of their own, Blain and Kevin. Her other 'children' include two dogs, two cats, chickens, ducks, and a pet frog named Ned.
She has had many different jobs in her life, but by far the one she has enjoyed the most is mother. Second is being an author. Each morning she wakes up anxious to get started on her work, regretting the time she has to stop and make dinner for her family.
The support of her family has been tremendous. To all her 'sisters', Joyce, Diane (biological), Annette, Patty, Elaine, Marie, and Jean. Also her very supportive mother-in-law, Therese.
