What One Reader Had To Say!
This book does a fantastic job of bringing clarity to the very confusing topic of "college wait lists". Why do colleges have them and how did you end up on one are some of the areas covered in just the right amount of detail. Most importantly, Dr. Dabel provides an action plan on how a student can be proactive when they find themselves in this situation and actually increase their odds of getting off the wait list and on to the acceptance list.
I really like "Step 2" in particular, which helps a student focus on determining if they really want to go to the school they are wait-listed for. This straightforward approach using a grid-based decision tool is well worth the price of this book just to make sure the student can make the critical decision first--"should I try to get off THIS wait list?"--before they move to the next steps--"how can I get off THIS wait list?". Very well done!
