#Children #YA #Adventure: The Seven Stones – The Tumblestones Trilogy: Book 1
by C. P. Goy
Terry should never have been in the middle of Crow Wood that night - then the Torus couldn't have taken him. But he was, and it did.
Now he finds himself in a strange new world, with no hope of getting home again unless he can find the seven tumblestones.
New friends Gwen, Meeshka and Polka will help him solve the riddles, left by the mysterious Stranger - but the Baron's secret police are closing in fast. The key to the mystery lies in the mountains of the far north, where the "Watcher" is waiting. The friends set out on their desperate quest, but it soon becomes clear that there is a deeper mystery behind the hiding of the stones, and an even deadlier enemy is just waiting for its chance...
C. P. Goy (Chris Paul, for those interested) is the author of many short stories, magazine articles, a comedy musical (Crazy Capers, Dodgy Deals), and most recently, his Terry, the Torus and the Tumblestones series for children (and, it turns out, adults too.)
"I write when I have a story to tell," says Chris. "I never expected the adult fan base to be almost as big as the children's for this series. One day, I had this idea - what if you told a story, and nobody knew until the very end that... . From that moment on, the Tumblestones story just had to be told. It grew into three books with a big surprise at the end, so remember, there's something nobody knows yet...!"
The second book in the series, The Pale Death Moon, was published on 1st September 2010. One of the 'first reader' reviews declared: "This fabulous book has one of the most exciting endings I've ever read!" In March 2012 it was awarded the Flamingnet "Top Rated Award" by student reviewers.
The final book in the series, The Guardian of the Past, was released early on 1st August 2011, to the delight of many readers. Readers are respectfully requested to keep the big surprise at the end secret so other people can enjoy the ending. The proof reader of the final book declared:
"Rarely does the conclusion of a story both astonish and deeply satisfy. All the mysteries of the first two books are revealed, and the poignancy of the ending will leave both adults and children richly rewarded."
Chris lives in County Durham with his wife Elaine.
